Call for Papers- Spring 2018 CCCI Student Symposium

Call for Papers - Spring 2018 Student Symposium

Call for Papers for the 3rd Annual Cornell Contemporary China Initiative Student Symposium!

Cornell Contemporary China Initiative(CCCI), in collaboration with Cornell Institute for China Economic Research(CICER), China and Asia-Pacific Studies(CAPS) and the Center for the Study of Economy and Society(CSES), is hosting a student symposium on contemporary China studies, focusing on ‘China in transition’. China in the Reform Era has been characterized by swift transformation at a massive scale, whether from the perspective of political reform, economic development, ideological change, or urban and rural transformations. This student seminar invites short presentations from 3 undergraduate and 3 graduate students that explore some aspect of these transitions or others. This symposium will serve as a platform for students to present their research to an engaged audience of faculty and fellow students and participate in critical discussions about the field. Student presentations will be reviewed prior to the symposium by a faculty committee and in group workshops as an opportunity to receive feedback from faculty and peers in various disciplines.
