Cornell project: A Study of Institutional Economics and Social Disaster

Dr. Mori is a professor at the College of Policy Science in Ritsumeikan University, Japan. Before the current situation, he served in Kochi University and Osaka Kyoiku University as an academic researcher such as associate professor and lecuturer. He graduated from Osaka City University in 1990 and received Ph. D. from Ritsumeikan University in 2008.  He is a public finance researcher who has been interested in public works and intergovernmental fiscal relations. Public Works Reforms (2008) reflects his early concern with Japan’s infrastructure issues from regional socio-economic perspectives.  This book was prized from an academic society Japan Association of Local Public Finance in 2009. He has energetically published a lot of articles in public finance fields. He has been recently engaged in asbestos disaster problems concerning both labor and environmental issues. He is a co-editor of Asbestos Disaster: Lessons from Japan's Experience (2011), the first book on Japan’s asbestos problems in English. He has served for the board of directors in academic societies in Japan.
