The mission of the East Asia Program is to enhance the study of East Asia (China, Japan, and Korea) both at Cornell and throughout the globe. Our program offers useful resources for the study of East Asia to a wide variety of audiences, including scholars and students at Cornell and other universities, elementary and secondary schools, the business community, the media, and the general public. In our initiatives and all our activities we strive to produce resources such as videos, on-line publications, curriculae and make them widely available.

The East Asia Program at Cornell University was designated during 2006-2010 and 2010-2014 a National Resource Center (NRC), supported under the auspices of Title VI of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and the U.S. Department of Education. As a NRC, Cornell East Asia Program's commission was to strengthen training in the major languages of East Asia in conjunction with area studies training in the field. As a NRC, Cornell East Asia Program developed and published many kinds of educational and language training resources.
